BLACKNOIR: BLACK AS MATTER AND LIGHT
BLACKNOIR explores the elegance of black and its ability to transform light, volume and matter. Inspired by the work of Pierre Soulages, the collection plays with matt and glossy finishes, transparencies, embroidery and reliefs to create sculptural, sophisticated silhouettes.Created entirely in the brand’s workshops in Spain, BLACKNOIR reflects almost four decades of artisanal savoir-faire and an approach to dressmaking grounded in precision and attention to every detail.
ABOUT HANNIBAL LAGUNA
The Hannibal Laguna brand was founded in 1987 and has become one of Spain’s longest-established designer fashion houses, with a strong international presence. Its founder, who trained in tailoring in Milan, has developed a distinctive style defined by femininity, sophistication and craftsmanship.THE DESIGNS IN THE EXHIBITION
NEBULA
Dress with a New Look silhouette inspired by the 1950s. Black velvet bodice with a plunging sweetheart neckline and a full midi skirt covered with overlapping layers of pleated organza ruffles. A wide sash encircles the waist, finished with an oversized bow in orange silk mikado with polka dots embroidered in gold thread.
NEPTUNO
Vestido con silueta New Look inspirada en la década de los años 50. Cuerpo de terciopelo negro con escote palabra de honor y canesú hasta la cadera. Todo decorado con franjas horizontales de encaje, bordadas a mano con lentejuelas metalizadas y láminas circulares en relieve. La falda esta cuajada de superposiciones de volantes en organza plisada.
NOVAK
A-line evening dress with a halter bodice that leaves the back bare, featuring a high neck and a plunging V-neckline. The dress is entirely hand-embroidered with chains of faceted jet-black sequins.
NEFORA
Dress with a New Look silhouette inspired by the 1950s. Bodice with a plunging sweetheart neckline extending to the waist and a dropped-waist yoke. Both are hand-embroidered with metallic sequins and circular jet-black beads, from which an imposing cape-cut skirt emerges, covered with pleated organza flowers.
NABILA
Gala gown with an A-line silhouette, train and front slit revealing the leg, covered with an impressive cascade of pleated organza flowers edged with black silk cords.
NENUFAR
Dress with a New Look silhouette inspired by the 1950s. Featuring a strapless-effect neckline and a bare back. The dress is entirely covered with an impressive cascade of hand-made pleated organza flowers, edged with black silk cords.
NEROLI
Dress with a mermaid silhouette and a sweeping train, in pleated organza and mesh braided with black silk cords. The dress is covered with an impressive three-dimensional cascade of raised hand-made flowers, edged with black silk cords.
NOIR
Straight-cut evening dress with a V-neckline and crossed straps at the back. A black velvet sash cinches the waist. The dress is entirely hand-embroidered with chains of faceted jet-black sequins.
