    Interior design

The interior design of Áurea Palacio de la Tinta is based on a clear concept: reinterpreting the creative spirit of Pablo Picasso from a contemporary perspective. The design, created by renowned interior designer Jaime Beriestain, does not aim to reproduce his universe literally, but rather to capture its most expressive essence. Geometry, colour and fragmentation become a visual language present throughout the hotel, shaping spaces with their own personality and full of life.

The art of geometry and colour

The influence of Cubism can be seen in many details throughout the hotel, always in a subtle and balanced way. Warm tones, such as beiges and reds, are combined with soft blues and greens, bringing calm and harmony to the spaces.

In the common areas, marble floors with geometric compositions add a very distinctive character, while the stained glass windows in the corridors and staircase allow light to pass through in a constantly changing way. In the fourth-floor restaurant, the bar becomes a standout feature with geometric shapes, and in the rooms, the headboards introduce the same interplay of volumes and colours, connecting the entire hotel.

The fourth floor, a space to be enjoyed

One of the project’s key successes was giving prominence to the fourth floor. Its height, natural light and original structure make it a truly unique space within the building.

Here you will find the restaurant, relaxation areas and a terrace with views over the sea and Gibralfaro. Rather than placing the communal spaces at street level, the hotel elevates them, creating a different and far more memorable experience. A glass lift connects this floor directly with the reception, ensuring smooth and convenient access.

The result is a place designed for enjoyment, both for guests and locals alike.

Dwelling in the palace: comfort, light and a sense of home

The rooms feature a warm, timeless design with a very clear aim: to make guests feel comfortable from the very first moment. Although each room is different due to the palace’s original structure, they all share natural, pleasant materials such as wood, soft textiles and marble-like finishes.

The space has been designed to be both practical and welcoming. Certain features, such as sliding bathroom doors or clearly separated shower and toilet areas, add comfort without unnecessary complexity. In addition, each room includes a small seating area, spacious wardrobes and a minibar, ensuring a simple and enjoyable stay.
